Holiday Decorating Trends 2019

It’s that time of the year again! With the holidays fast approaching, there’s plenty of time to spruce up your home to make it look a lot like Christmas. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a holiday rookie, we’ve compiled a list of ways to make your home more merry, more festive and more beautiful.

Stay Warm

There’s nothing more satisfying than walking through a brightly lit room with warm, golden lights. The mix of warm colours with rustic elements is an artistic yet stylish colour combination that will surely set the mood (especially on colder days). Look for LED lights with a warm hue, find ornaments and decorations that are dark, golden, or brown and don’t forget to top it off with the classic forest green garland.

Keep Cold

Not a fan of warm tones? A winter colour palette of icy blues and snowy whites can help you with a white Christmas. Incorporate white LED lights around your home and add a mix of bright and blue ornaments. Your home will make Elsa swoon over your decorating skills!

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Don't just try to show off your best holiday decorations for the living room! Be creative and spread the flow into different areas of your home. Whether you've run out of places to prop your wreath or want to rest your head surrounded by some holiday joy, there are plenty of spaces in your home to keep the festivities live and well.

Don’t have enough space in the living room to put up the Christmas tree? Do you have a bonus room or unused room? Then make it a holiday sanctuary! Decorate the space just like you would with your living room. You'll save a ton of space and Santa Claus won't step all over your new area rug.

Want to blast your guests with some holiday spirit right when they step in front of your house? You don’t have to go all out on the decorations by blinding your neighbours with bright lights. Keep it simple and place some lanterns and holiday decorations on your front steps. Nice and subtle.

Looking to impress Santa Claus this season? Go the extra mile before you place that cookie on a plate and swap out your generic dishware with something more festive. Don’t forget to add some holly with decorative Christmas ornaments to keep the Christmas vibe going.

Decorate With Presents

Have a whole bunch of presents wrapped with nowhere to store them? Why not use them as decorations?! To bring out the best of your festive environment, coordinate your gift wrapping to complement the colour scheme of your room.

Presents don’t have to sit under a tree. You can place presents in areas that often go unnoticed, such as on the stairs or unoccupied chairs.

Christmas “Shelfie”

Shelves are begging to showcase your best holiday spirit, so use your bookshelves as an opportunity to inject a whole lot of holiday flair.
