New Playground Opens In Tamarack

14.11.20 | Dream Development
Park Dedication Ceremony On Saturday, November 1, 2014, Dream Development took part in the dedication of a new playground and park in the Dream development of Tamarack. Tamarack is located immediately adjacent to Dream’s new family community of Maple Crest, so the opening is great news for residents of this neighbourhood, also. The dedication included representatives from Dream Development, City Of Edmonton, the Provincial Government, Alberta Recycling and the Tamarack Park Development Project Association (TPDPA). The playground is located behind A. Blair McPherson School and includes many incredible features, attractions and structures, including southeast Edmonton’s first BMX bike course.

The playground was officially opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Amanda Jober, president of the TPDPA. She was joined by the Hon. Gene Zwozdesky, MLA for Edmonton-Mill Creek and current Speaker of the Legislative Assembly; Amarjeet Sohi, Ward 12 City Councilor and David Morris, Senior Development Manager at Dream Development.

In appreciation for their work toward building a better community, the TPDPA was awarded a plaque from the Province of Alberta highlighting its contributions to completing the playground, as well as a commemorative photo from the City of Edmonton and a cheque from Alberta Recycling for the TPDPA’s commitment to sustainability. A unique aspect of the playground's base is that it is made up of rubber composite from 27,000 recycled tires and provides a safer, lower maintenance base for guests.

Dream’s Commitment To The Community
Dream Development was pleased to contribute $50,000 toward construction of the playground, which complemented three grants provided through the city and province. In this way, Dream Development continues to deliver superior, amenity-rich communities to homeowners and their families. This exciting recreation area, which is already a huge hit with local residents, is only a short, ten minute walk from Maple Crest and is the newest addition to a growing list of lifestyle amenities in the area.
